Turtles and rings

Pretty jewellery and one of my favourite animals - in one post? Turtle Love Committee have been doing the blog rounds and I'm so glad I checked it out as I found a great ring which I think is so pretty and is also an absolute bargain!

I had put a bit more in the budget aside for my ring, but I would rather have something so nice like this one.
It is called Cambolasse and the description says it is perfect for people looking for a simple wedding band that has some character - sounds like me!

I just need to work out what my american size is

First signs of stress

The week started off well as we visited what will now be come known as the dream venue. It is beautiful, has a great layout and everything we need. The location seems at first glance to also be great. But then the realisation struck about the ceremony. I was doing as my very detailed and helpful to do list instructed for the 12-18 month period before W-day, and checking out the legal side of getting married. I checked the legalities of church and civil ceremonies, and only at that point found out that we can't make a civil ceremony into the religious one which would suit our complex needs, in fact you can't make it religious at all. How did I not know that? When I mentioned to my mum she said "well, yes, of course!", just me not knowing them. I love love love this inspiration board on The Finer Things blog for their 25th Wedding Wednesdays! Makes me feel secure in my want of a blue wedding... They posted more blue boards, based on the invite in the top row, during the day yesterday. Beautiful! Yes, I know I said I was stopping looking while the first crisis is happening, but those blog posts don't stop arriving!

Who are the big drinkers?

We spent a fun evening yesterday going through our guest list and trying to decide how much everyone might drink! This is slightly preemptive, yes, as we haven't got a date, let alone a guest list properly, but after our meeting with the caterer at possible venue no.2 (which is creeping to top of the list) we realised we could stock our own bar, which means it can be an open bar, and we feel is this is a lovely thing to do for the guests. I've been to weddings with open bars (but only as a child), every one since then has had a pay bar, and I have not thought twice about it. But when it was mentioned we thought "mmm..." Aside from the fact it is nice to do, is may be cheaper overall, as we would have to pay for someone to come and run a pay bar as the venue doesn't have one (and I have no idea what the licensing implications are), plus it's not that expensive.
